Vallejo Colorshift Sets      

A range of 223 acrylic colours, very highly pigmented, formulated for models and miniatures. Model Color is indicated for all surfaces, and especially formulated to adhere to plastics and polyesters. The Modelcolor range contains 223 colors and an extensive assortment of mediums and varnishes, designed especially for Miniature and Modelpainting. The colors have been chosen with the help and advice of the best model painters from many countries. Those colors which have corresponding Federal Standard, RAL and RLM equivalencies are so identified. (Please see “Equivalent values”). Modelcolor has been formulated with permanent pigments for fine arts; all colors are completely lightfast and opaque, (with the exception of the fluorescent and transparent colors, which are semi-opaque). A few metallic pigments (in an alcohol base) are included in the range, since these give a harder brilliance than the waterbased metallics. (Please see “Liquid Gold”). The consistency of Modelcolor allows for an extremely smooth and uniform paintfilm, with no trace of brushstrokes. Professional model painters always work with a wet brush and dilute the paint with water or Mat Medium, applying many thin layers to achieve depth and shadows. Colors may also be diluted with other Mediums (See "Auxiliary Products for Modelpainting") for glazes and layered applications. The waterbased formula of Modelcolor has been specifically developed for adherence on difficult surfaces such as metal and plastic, but the product is not toxic, not flammable, and does not give off noxious fumes. Errors can be corrected immediately with water or alcohol Modelcolor dries quickly to a matte, even and waterproof finish. Exact drying time depends on the temperature and humidity of the environment, on the surface which has been painted, and on the thickness of the paint layer - although the colors are dry to the touch within minutes, the water content keeps on evaporating, and the paint does not acquire its true permanence until several weeks after application.

Liquid Gold, formulated with metallic pigments in an alcohol base, are paints of great brilliance and durability. The range consists of 8 metallic shades for painting figures and model kits. The formula of these paints gives a finish of exceptional brilliance and complete lightfastness. The Liquid Gold paints are intermixable and dry quickly, they can be layered and applied in several layers. Liquid Gold contains alcohol and is therefore flammable, but the product does not contain xylene or toluene. Brushes should be cleaned in alcohol or with our alcohol-based brush cleaner (ref. 28.900). Packaging: In 35 ml plastic cups with child-proof cap.

Product information "Vallejo Metal Color 32ml" Water-based metallic paints combi-metal-colorIntroduction: Metal Color is a new range of water-based metallic paints specifically designed for airbrushing. In developing these new and innovative metallic paints, the latest generation of aluminium pigments has been used in a specially developed formula, resulting in a range of paints with exceptional resistance and adhesion to plastics and metal. Metal Color can be applied directly to models without the need for a primer. However, for fuselages and components for aircraft models, it is recommended to first apply a glossy black primer to highlight the unique and special quality of the aluminium finish. The Metal Color range consists of 19 references, available in 32 ml. bottles with flip-top/pipette closure.How to use: Shake well before use. Pour the paint directly into the cup of the airbrush, either undiluted or previously diluted with Thinner 71.261. Colors can be mixed in the cup of the airbrush. Metal Color dries almost instantly on the model, allowing immediate application of aging processes such as the use of glazes, pigments and dry brushing techniques. However, it is recommended to allow about an hour of curing time before working on the fresh layer of paint.Metal Color Gloss Black Primer 77.660: A water-based acrylic polyurethane primer that dries quickly to the touch and provides a glossy, self-leveling base coat with exceptional resistance. Painting the model can continue almost immediately after applying the primer. However, when using masking tape, it is recommended to allow the primer to cure for about 12 hours before starting the masking process. Gloss Varnish Metal Color 77.657: The varnish has been specially developed for airbrushing; it dries very quickly and leaves no fingerprints (“no tack”). Gloss Varnish 77.657 can be applied directly or thinned with distilled water or Thinner 71.261. In some cases, one coat of varnish is sufficient, but if multiple coats are required, an interval of 30 minutes between each coat is recommended. Once protected by the varnish, the colors resist the application of oils, glazes and even pure turpentine and light washes with alcohol. Airbrush Thinner 71.261: Airbrush Thinner can give the paint more flexibility without losing adhesion, opacity and coverage. The product also helps to delay the drying of the paint in the airbrush mechanism, so it is recommended to add a few drops of it when working thinner. For thinning with thinner, the recommended ratio is 1 part thinner to 3 parts paint. Distilled water alters the properties of Metal Color, but is not incompatible. Airbrush Flow Improver 71.362: This medium is designed to improve the flow and delay the drying of the paint on the needle when airbrushing. It is recommended to add 2 drops of flow improver to 10 drops of paint in the airbrush cup. Airbrush Cleaner 71.099: Airbrush Cleaner is the solution for cleaning the airbrush between one color and another. The product quickly removes the remains of the old paint and also lubricates the airbrush without damaging its mechanics. During painting, the tip of the airbrush should be cleaned occasionally with a cloth moistened with cleaner to remove dried traces of paint; this prevents splashes or clogging of the airbrush. Airbrush Cleaner can also be used on the model as a paint stripper to remove paint or correct errors when applying the colors.Airbrush and compressor: Due to the viscosity of Metal Color, you can work with airbrush brushes up to 0.2 mm without the need to dilute the colors. However, environmental conditions may change the viscosity of the product and require further dilution. We recommend working with a compressor pressure between 10-15 PSI, 0.75-1.10 Bar (0.5-1 kg).

Gummi Arabicum ist ein Naturprodukt aus dem Harz einer Akazie, das auch in der Lebensmittelindustrie Verwendung findet.   Mecha Color, a range of acrylic airbrush colors, has been designed especially for painting Robots, Gundam, Transformer and action figures. The innovative formulation of the colors, although water-based, guarantees a maxi-mum resistance to manipulation, impacts, friction, scratches and overall extreme wear. Once dry, the color appears the same as the injected plastic color, respecting all the kit’s surface details.   The colors of the range have been carefully selected to provide the modeler with the shades most frequently used for painting all kinds of Mecha figures. The colors can be mixed with one another and diluted with Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. The range includes a series of metallic and fluorescent colors, weathering effects and auxiliary products such as primers, thinners, chipping Medium and varnishes.   Safety/Toxicity: Mecha Color has the following international safety certificate ASTM D-4236. This independent certification guarante that no harmful substances are used which could pose a risk to the health of both the user and the environment.   Surfaces: Mecha Colors have exceptional adherence on all surfaces, and has been tested on resin, plastics, steel and white metal The colors can be used directly, without the need for a primer. In case of a dark surface, a first application of primer will increase the luminosity of the finish.   How to use: Shake well before using. Pour the paint directly into the airbrush, either undiluted or previously diluted with Thinner. The colors are self-leveling, dry rapidly, and permit immediate application of weathering effects; 24 hours after application maximum resistance is achieved. Mecha Color can also be applied with a brush to highlight small details.  

The pearlescent colours of Finetec GmbH consist of mica pigment (also called mica) and are bound with gum arabic and do not contain any animal components. No fillers, such as gypsum, are used, which is why the pigments are shown to their full brilliance. Both products are prepared by a well-known German company and sourced from there.    Mica refers to a group of minerals. These pigments do not oxidise and are particularly lightfast.    Gum Arabic is a natural product made from the resin of an acacia tree, which is also used in the food industry.All colours are lightfast and rich in pigments handmade in Germany made from mica pigments free from animal ingredients ASTM-4236 certified and CE compliant available as a set and as single colours Our pearlescent colours are tested by an American laboratory and conform to the ASTM-4236 standard and comply with the Euro standard CE.
