Frames

Circle Frames

Circle Frames

Round framing is made from MDF (medium density fibreboard), because this wood is easier to process than other types of wood due to its lower strength, ie it can be bent into circles. Every other wood would break.   By default, we only produce our framing for circles to a depth of 1.8 cm and not above a size of 80 cm. For circles over 80 cm we can not guarantee stability, as they may break during transportation / shipping. If such a framing breaks during transport, it must be reproduced, a repair is not possible.

wooden canvas floater frame MERANTI wood

Floating frames are ideal for framing stretched canvases. Our floating frames surround the artwork with a 5 mm gap (the frame profile thickness is also 5 mm).You can view the exact dimensions in the diagram located in the photo section. The frames are crafted from Meranti—a lightweight yet highly robust tropical hardwood. Meranti wood features a color tone ranging from light brown to medium brown, sometimes with a slight reddish tint. The precise shade of the wood depends on the specific batch (as it is a 100% natural product). The sample photo illustrates a light brown shade. Upon request, we can also produce floating frames using other wood types: oak, beech, ash, pine, thermo-ash, and walnut. Would you like the frame to be oiled? No problem—we offer that service as well. The benefits of oiling: it brings out the wood grain and deepens the color, protects against fading and discoloration caused by sunlight, and makes it easier to wipe away dust.Other specific dimensions and profile thicknesses are also available for this item. If you are interested, please send an email to info@peters-art.de providing the following details: Image dimensions (L x W x H) (Alternatively, instead of the image depth, you may specify the required height of the inner frame profile.) Desired frame profile thickness (front face) Desired gap between the image and the frame edge Desired wood type Natural wood or oiled wood finish Additionally, upon request, we can mount your artwork within the frame for you. The cost for this service ranges from €20 to €40, depending on the size. We do not produce the artworks themselves—only the frames!

It is ideal for framing covered stretcher frames, which are usually used for oil paintings. The canvas floater frames the painting at a distance of 5 mm.Our partner workshop in Poland produces the frames from Meranti - a light but very robust tropical wood. For formats over 1 metre we use Dark Red Meranti, which has similar strength properties to oak. For smaller formats up to 1 meter we use the slightly less expensive Light Red Meranti to achieve a good price-quality ratio. We can also produce canvas floaters from harder woods, such as oak or beech, upon customer request. Meranti wood oak and beech also possible upon request comes without glass and rear wall (empty frame) please select the colour (brown = light, untreated or dark brown = dark, stained) please select the format also custom formats available please select the thickness of your frame: the " inside-dimension " refers to the depth of the painting (profile) x the width of the fold ( in the back) x the top view ( the thickness of the stretcher frame) please always specify the actual dimensions of your painting when ordering our workshop automatically adds a shadow gap of 0.7 cm around the edge of the canvas on request the painting can also be mounted in the frame
