Pitt charcoal
Charcoal is the oldest drawing material in the world. It can be easily rubbed or smudged, is easy to correct and can be painted over again and again. The old masters were already fascinated by its bluish hue when applied. The charcoal, on the other hand, is much blacker when applied. Crushed charcoal, combined with soot and clay, gives the charcoal its deep black colour and enables it to be differentiated into different degrees of hardness.
