Boiled linseed oil often contains oxides or resonates of lead, manganese, and/or cobalt added during heating to shorten the drying time considerably. This oil is used for grounds and varnishes, and tends to yellow and darken with age.

Handling and Warnings

CAUTION: Materials impregnated with oil may spontaneously combust (auto-oxidation). Burn rags under supervision or dry outspread.
